Talent alone won’t make you a success. Neither will being in the right place at the right time, unless you are ready. The most important question is: ‘Are you ready?’ Johnny Carson
Think of your morning routine. I know for myself, before I am ready to leave the house and take on the day, there are a number of things that need to be done first. Although, getting ready for work requires a specific set of steps, I think the value of adequate preparation can be applied to most things in life.
As a team, we’ve started taking additional steps to help us “Be Ready” and prepare for the day. In addition to our weekly status meetings, we’ve recently started touching base each morning. Though fairly short, this extra step helps us prepare, prioritize and clearly define our objectives for each day.
When we are ready, we are engaged in our work and the work going on around us. We are able to deliver more value to our clients and those we are partnering with. Which in theory, should yield results all parties can be happy with. Which, in the end, is what’s most important.
