Four Day Ray
Damn you internet. Double damn you Pivot Marketing out of Bloomington Indiana. Every now and again I come across projects in my online travels that make me want to pack up my office, hand in my designer badge in shame and pick up a night shift at 7-11. Pivot Marketing’s work for Four Day Ray is just that type of project. From the bespoke typography to the little details of the icon set… every corner of this project exudes craftsmanship and an attention to detail that is hard to come by. So kudos to the fine folks of Pivot marketing. Keep putting beautiful, smart design out into the world. If you all ever make it out to San Diego, stop by the 7-11 on Lake Arrowhead, slurpees are on me.

Good Chemistry
I’m a sucker for a well thought out visual brand system. These guys have it in spades. Simple. Beautiful. Unique. A perfect balance of playfulness (“Bartender! A round of Hurly Burly please.” ) set atop a very structured, info focused design framework.
Commonwealth Brewing
Ever stared into a rich stout? It’s akin to staring at a super nova, or lava flow or maybe a delicate dance of bubbles, oil and orange juice? Whatever your preferred metaphor, this can captures the experience. The simple logo and information takes a back seat to the beauty that is stout. Their whole can line is beautiful, but the one that stands out for me is the stout.
Shower Beer
Here at LESS+MORE we are all about simple and smart. May I present to you a simple and smart beer brand: Shower Beer. It is what it is and ain’t what it ain’t. As the fine people at Snask describe it: “A sweet but strong pale ale in a 18 cl small bottle meant to gulp in three sips while standing in the shower getting ready for the night.”
The last thing you want to be dealing with before heading out for a night that is sure to be filled with choices (what to eat… what to drink… what story to make up for being late to work tomorrow because you are having the night of your life) is what type of beer to drink before you head out. Shower beer to the rescue. A simple but beautiful type system on a bottle that carries enough kick to offset the thought of your significant other finding a few pink caps in the bathroom trash. Simple done right.
Bay City Brewing Co
Shameless plug: We are pretty proud of the work we’ve done for Bay City and the first official destination beer branding for the San Diego Tourism Authority. We’ve been working with the good people of Bay City since Bay City was just an idea between friends. Highly recommend getting down to their brewery to get a taste first hand. One thing is for sure, the craft beer explosion has blown the barn doors off of what most would consider typical beer branding and design–for the better.
