Overview
We helped align Platypus stakeholders on a new brand strategy that reflected not only who the company is, but gave them a guiding north star to maintain their leadership in an increasingly crowded space.
Odds are you have flossed with a flossing pick (that oddly shaped tool with a pick on one end and a short stretch of floss on the other). At first glance, a Platypus flosser looks like all the other flossing picks out there. But look closer, and you’ll notice a flatter edge on the flossing end—a bit like a platypus tail. That little twist makes a Platypus flosser much easier to maneuver and clean within and around braces, which makes a mega difference.
Platypus has been the top-selling orthodontic flosser brand on Amazon for some time, but as the tooth care aisle continues to expand, Platypus felt themselves getting lost in the noise.
A new look was in order.
We equipped them with a new brand strategy and north star, as we set to work on visual expression. With a name like Platypus, we knew we could have some fun.
Visually, we took a fun, literal path—a platypus in your teeth—to lead the packaging and consumer touchpoint design. We developed friendly supporting illustrations to help round out the visual identity and position Platypus as an approachable and supportive partner in dental health.

“Less And More has very strong project management skills. They stuck to the set schedule, from the project initiation date to the final delivery deadline. They were also very communicative and constantly on top of everything.”
